What makes the actors cry?

I heard that there is this stick that you rub under your eyes and you start to cry. but some are able to do it automatically.
What makes the actors cry?
tiny dressing room?

long tech rehearsals?

have %26#039;em pull things from personal experience and associate it with their character... there%26#039;s a lot of method exercises, have %26#039;em, turn all the lights in a theatre off and just have them yell at every wrong doing in the world/their lives stuff like that.

funny story...I once ASMed and LBOed a production of Equus and on opening night all the actors got so into it that they all started crying during the final scene, even though none of them were directed to... it was fun.

or just tell %26#039;em you%26#039;re recasting their part.
What makes the actors cry?
Well, it kinda of depends what kind of actors you are working with. For a school play, i can give you some advice. If you are working with girls, tell them that their boyfriend just broke up with them,or (my friend came up with this one) tell them to think of dead puppies. I can%26#039;t really help you with guys. Older actors should be able to remember something that can make them cry.
Reply:some do it automaticaly by like thinking of something really sad
Reply:Good actors cry because they are responding to the stimuli of the play as the character would do. They are not pretending nor using some fake tear stick or such device and they don%26#039;t need to think of dead puppies, all they have to do is react fully and honestly and if the reaction is supposed to be crying, they will be crying. Not so skilled actors fake it or use something to put in their eyes or use some emotional memory which always slows things down.
Reply:For producing actual tears use :Menthol stick (usually used only for tv or film) and some people can automatically turn on the floodgates.

Actors often exercise the diaphragm. It鈥檚 a big muscle attached to the ribcage, and if you pant lightly and continuously you should be able to feel it move inside. .You often feel this movement when sobbing or laughing.

It all depends on what acting method actors uses ex. whether it is Stainstaviski or Lecoque

I mime at my church, and the mime ministry is looking for some mime outfits, can you help me in finding them? I would gladly appreciate it. I am thinking a black and white shirt, loose black pants, and black suspenders. I don%26#039;t know. I need your help
Where can i find a mime outfit?
Please, I am begging you, no more mimes. They are so scary.
Where can i find a mime outfit?
I had to play a mime in a play i was in and i was just told get a mime outfit... and i had no help from the costume department or my student director.... so what i did is i went to all of the really cheap clothing stores i knew of .... including all of the thrift stores i knew of and i just searched and searched for anything i could find.... it actually turned out really well... and i had fun trying to look for a mime outfit! AND i totally got a beret at the thrift store... how cool is that?

Basically just go into a clothes store and scan the racks for anything with stripes... thats what i did! :)

How limited are limited view seats on the orchestra level of the Bank of America Theater in Chicago?

The Bank of America theater used to be called the La Salle Bank Theater. My seat are in row y in house right.
How limited are limited view seats on the orchestra level of the Bank of America Theater in Chicago?
They usually mean they are way off on one side or the other so they may be partially obstructed off on one side of the stage pretty far so you can%26#039;t see too much of the other side. But you will be really close if it%26#039;s orchestra seats, hopefully that will make up for it.

I tried out to be elle woods for legally blond the musical.?
Omigosh, I think you should definitely keep the part! That is a once in a lifetime offer :D it%26#039;d be so much fun!

Congrats! %26lt;3
Reply:Isn%26#039;t that always the way lol, having to choose either one or the other.Well,I mean,if you think you can get a better job with a college education,I would stay in college. But,musicals get a lot,and I mean a LOT,of publicity. So if musicals get publicity, people wonder who the main actors/actresses are and of course talent agents watch these musicals, this could really be a great start-off for theater, and from there on you will most likely be offered more acting parts if you take the musical,(Not saying you aren%26#039;t a good actress and can%26#039;t get more parts later on without taking the musical part.) .Plus, you can really go to college at any age,I%26#039;ve heard of 50 year olds going back to college later on in life.Hope that helped a little on your decision :] lol
Reply:Do the show. It is a great education. It is only in the evenings, you have all day to be a student. You can do it. It isn%26#039;t that exculsive a choice.
Reply:If you%26#039;ve ALREADY been cast and DON%26#039;T accept the part, you can kiss any future acting opportunities goodbye. It is EXTREMELY RUDE and INCONSIDERATE for you to waste the Director%26#039;s (and everyone else%26#039;s) time by refusing parts over which they probably spent hours debating and assembling. Word travels FAST, and you will quickly become known as unreliable. You should have considered your conflicts and concerns BEFORE auditioning. Next time, if you can%26#039;t make a commitment, don%26#039;t bother auditioning.

I helped with a professional casting session years ago where an actress was IDEAL for a role. The Director was very excited, but had never seen or heard of her, and asked if anyone on the staff had worked with her before. I informed him that she had been cast in a show that I had done recently, but that she had dropped out after a couple weeks of rehearsals. He immediately tore up her headshot and resume, tossed it behind him, and said, %26quot;If she%26#039;d quit someone else%26#039;s show without notice, she%26#039;d quit mine too. She%26#039;s perfect for the role, and I%26#039;d love to use her, but I can%26#039;t trust her.%26quot; I haven%26#039;t seen her at another audition, or in another show, at any theatre around here since.
Reply:I%26#039;m assuming this is for the reality show? Take the part. The exposure is terrific. If, however, you plan on working in another industry, you need to consider whether or not you will need your degree.

If, you are a theater major, take the part.

Good luck!

Hi, well I know that the library has FREE activites and what not. You might want to try that. Or you could see if there are any cheap camps.
Reply:Dr. Steve%26#039;s right about the web site. You can also pick up Backstage and other industry trades at about every newstand in the city. If you are willing to work for free, you might try contacting some of the larger Off-Broadway theatre companies and volunteer. This would be a great way to beef up your resume. Unless you are a union stagehand, you will not be allowed to work in a Broadway house or venue. However, you can try internships.

What are some good high school level plays? I am looking for 20-30 cast, and under 2.5 hours?
One thing my theater teacher did was put on a play of short scripts...written by the same author... so basically there were 6 plays in the one play. it was great because more people got to have a %26quot;lead role%26quot; in the smaller plays.... One short-script-writer i love is Christopher Durang... his stuff is so funny!

You can check out the various parts by then going to www.stageagent.com and looking up that specific musical.
Reply:The Man Who Came to Dinner, You can update it with todays famous personalities and make Whiteside a TV Host.or Radio Talk Show Personality. Use the High School version to avoid the sex jokes. Most Shakespeare judiciously cut and well rehearsed. Use the French Acting Editions and do As You Like It, one of the easiest ones. Romeo and Juliet is good as well.

What are some tips to taking my own headshot?

where cna i take it where i won%26#039;t have a background with the couch and how should i pose or angle my face?? tips plz
What are some tips to taking my own headshot?
Well you could hang up a sheet or something on a wall and just pose pretty. And make sure you look how you always look. Agents don%26#039;t like it when they have a nice headshot and the person comes in looking totally different!
What are some tips to taking my own headshot?
You are most likely to get professional results by going to a professional headshot photographer. Be aware, many photogs advertise they do headshots. Stick with someone who does them exclusively or mainly. You can go to any photo lab that does headshot reproductions and look at their work. If you do your headshots yourself, more than likely it will look like you did them yourself and you%26#039;d have wasted your time. If you want anything in life you have to do what it takes and pay what it costs to get it.
Reply:Don%26#039;t take your own headshot. Hire a professional. I%26#039;ll be blunt. I have been in many, many casting sessions. This is a very competitive business. You must present the best possible head shot you can.

Here are some guidelines:

Wear a shirt. Appearing shirtless or seemingly naked even if you are wearing a strapless top sends the wrong message.

Have natural makeup.

If you change your hairstyle, or gain or lose weight; get a new headshot.

Never, ever pay the photographer for the final shots up front. They may request a sitting fee. Ask a few (at least 3) professional photographers to show you samples of their work in your sex, age group, and race. As with hairstylists, finding someone who%26#039;s experienced in your demographic group. There is a big difference in the way you light different skin tones.

The head shot size is 81/2 inches by 10 inches. You never alter this.

I personally, do not like composites (Two or 4 different poses on one sheet). Other people do, it%26#039;s subjective.

Be yourself. The photographer you select should make you feel at ease and take a lot of photographs.

You will get a proof sheet. Ask for help from friends and family in selecting the shot that best captures you.

The only time a do-it-yourself head shot is appropriate is for entry-level entertainment jobs. Most of these casting sessions take polaroids on the spot.

Reply:plain background, head and shoulders only, looks like you and shows your sparkle. Look at the camera. Smile. Radiate until you get an agent a good digital 8 by 10 will do fine and you can reproduce it on your computer.
Reply:Outdoors pictures can really add a nice glow to your face. Just be sure that you don%26#039;t have a noisy background, like bushes with ten different color flowers. Go for something softer, like the trunk of a tree. The background sholdn%26#039;t be the focus of the picture. Make full eye contact with the picture - it shows strength. Show some emotion in the picture, but don%26#039;t go overboard. Just show enough emotion that they understand the fierceness that you have, or the versatility that you have, but focus mainly on looking like potential. That%26#039;s what a picture is all about - showing your potential. Hope this helps.

--------------------------------------...

The story of All%26#039;s Well That Ends Well

Helena, the orphaned daughter of a physician, has been adopted by the Countess of Rossillion and is secretly in love with the Countess%26#039; son, Bertram. He is to leave Rossillion for the French court, where the King is gravely ill. Wishing to follow him, Helena journeys to Paris to cure the King of %26quot;a fistula%26quot; with one of her father%26#039;s old remedies.

The King recovers and grants Helena as reward the choice of a husband from all the Lords at court. She asks for Bertram, who is outraged at being commanded to marry a woman he sees as little better than a servant. The ceremony goes ahead but Bertram leaves immediately for the Italian wars, vowing that he will not accept Helena as his wife until she has conceived his child and obtained from him a ring - two seemingly impossible conditions.

Bertram travels to Florence, where he is quickly promoted. There he meets, falls for and plans to seduce Diana, a widow%26#039;s daughter. Helena too travels to Florence, as a pilgrim and she too meets Diana. Helena convinces Diana to let her take Diana%26#039;s place in Bertram%26#039;s bed. Helena sleeps with Bertram, falls pregnant by him and manages to

get his ring.

News reaches Bertram that Helena is dead. Relieved, he returns to France and the Court in Paris. There he makes plans to marry the daughter of a Lord - but Diana reappears to denounce him, saying he promised her marriage only to desert her. Bertram angrily denies her accusations and is about to have her arrested when Helena enters, wearing Bertram%26#039;s ring and pregnant with his child. His conditions have been met and he has no choice but to accept Helena as his wife.

Do Hollywod casting directors and agents still take people from Broadway and off-broadway shows in NYC?

Is it worth trying to get picked up from a Broadway show, or a off-Broadway show, for a LA sitcom or a NY/LA feature film? I am not equity but I am SAG. I am 22, but look like I am 18. What do u think??
Do Hollywod casting directors and agents still take people from Broadway and off-broadway shows in NYC?
Theres no guarantee anyone will pick you up for a film anywhere. If you really want to be doing films and TV Broadway and off Broadway are both awesome stepping stones to getting noticed. But as you know, this business is pretty unpredictable.
Do Hollywod casting directors and agents still take people from Broadway and off-broadway shows in NYC?
Yes, take the job that pays the best and gets you the most exposure. If you are one of the very, very rare few who gets a steady gig on television or film, save your money and do theatre in your down time to hone your acting chops.

Break a leg.
Reply:I think t hey do. I don%26#039;t know how you can try to get picked, however, save inviting casting directors and agents to see you in the play.. If you are SAG you can just go pay your Equity dues, or wait until you are cast in an Equity show. I am sure they will take SAG members at their tryouts.
Reply:They%26#039;ll take anyone who has potential...and having experience in shows is plus for ya.

How do you fill out measurements for acting submission forms?

I have a showcase to get an agent and I have to fill out these forms. What exactly are they asking when it says this:

Sizes:

Blouse/Shirt:

Dress/Coat:

Pants:

Shoes: (I know this one, lol)

Unions:

Thanks!!
How do you fill out measurements for acting submission forms?
Well, they want to know your size. Sometimes, roles that aren%26#039;t vital are cast according to size of the costume (Gasp, horrors!) depending on the type of the show or role. Disney casts its fur characters primarily based on height and body build. Height is asked because casting directors forget when trying to match actors up for a role.

Sometimes, I have been in a casting sessions where we actually matched the photographs side by side to determine if the romantic leads look good together. We use the height information on the actor%26#039;s resume to use as a reference.

Unions are usually Actors Equity Association (AEA), Screen Actors Guild (SAG), American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). This allows the agent to determine what kinds of auditions and jobs to submit you for, Different kinds of projects have different union rules they must follow.

Break a leg!
How do you fill out measurements for acting submission forms?
As your mother. She knows. blouse or shirt, by bust or collar and sleeve

dress or coat, what size do you buy?

pants the size you buy or waist and inseam

If you do not belone to an actor%26#039;s union, enter %26#039;none%26#039;.
Reply:sizes: put the clothing size you wear

blouse/shirt: shirt size (xs, s, m, l)

Dress /coat: put the size you wear in dresses

pants: put your pants size

You can just go into your closet and take a look at the tags on most of your clothes or ask a parent to help you.
Reply:-Sizes are basic, you can probably figure these out from the size of clothes you wear (XXS-XXL)

-Blouse/Shirt: Usually either the size shirt you wear or your neck size.

Dress/Coat: Size dress you wear (Usually about your pant size, maybe a little bigger)

-Pants: 0-14 is for women%26#039;s pants, 6-16 for girls.

-Unions are only for actors and you should probably just put none/leave it blank. Once you%26#039;re more experienced, you may work in a union film like Screen Actors Guild (SAG) or AFTRA. So for now, don%26#039;t worry about that.

Good luck! Hope everything works out!
Reply:If they ask for SIZES, they want the NUMBER size you%26#039;d typically buy at a store. Words like %26quot;small%26quot;, %26quot;medium%26quot;, etc. are NOT helpful. If you%26#039;re a child, teen, or woman, it would be numbers like 2, 6, 9 Petite, 16, etc. (for blouse, dress, and pants), and if you%26#039;re an adult male, it would be numbers like 38R, 40L (coat chest measurement and length), 32/33 (pants waist/length), 15.5/33 (shirt neck/sleeve length).

Women%26#039;s sizes are coded, while men%26#039;s are based upon their actual measurements. You can just use the numbers out of the back of DRESS CLOTHING that FITS YOU PROPERLY. If it%26#039;s too baggy or too tight, it won%26#039;t be helpful. Or, ask someone to measure your bust, waist, and hips (in inches) with a measuring tape, and look up on a clothing store%26#039;s standard sizes chart to see which size you are. A lot of women and girls are a different size on the top than on the bottom. Men and boys tend to not differ too much because they are less curvy.

People%26#039;s sizes change over time, but this gives casting directors a basic idea of your body type and size, which can be very important in some roles. Update the information when your body changes significantly, and whatever you do, DON%26#039;T LIE. Wardrobe will usually contact you after you%26#039;ve been hired to get more detailed and current information.

Is curtain call in order of smallest parts to biggest?

usually, sometimes the lead or title role may not be the largest role, but enters last.
Is curtain call in order of smallest parts to biggest?
Yes. Chorus bows first, then others follow in order of smallest roles to leading roles. That way, the applause builds until the final company bow.

In the musical peter pan, does peter go last in curtain call?

only in professional theatre. I believe all amateur calls should be company calls, the roles may enter in order of importance, but no one bow until they are all out therer.
In the musical peter pan, does peter go last in curtain call?
Sure does:)
In the musical peter pan, does peter go last in curtain call?
Yes. Leads always bow last (in reverse order of size of roles) - but before the company bow - so that the audience stays, and the applause builds and is sustained until the end.

If you wanted to be famous how could you without living in los angolas?
Easy. LA isn%26#039;t all it is cracked up to be. There are lots of other important places in the world for acting as well as for other things. If you want to be famous, don%26#039;t try to be famous, just try to be very good at what you do. Doesn%26#039;t much matter where that is. Cause if you are good enough, folks will hear about it.
If you wanted to be famous how could you without living in los angolas?

I used to practice in my childhood, I was trying to get a cinema song. After a period of some one month suddenly I got the tune on harmonica the first line of the song. But after that it was comparatively easier.

Try, try and try again. It is not diffcult, it will come.

What are some acting things that i can do over the summer????

what are some acting things that i can do over the summer? i dont have any idea what to do... i thought about getting my friends and cuzins together and having a little play at the house for the family to see how that works out but i need more than that.... i found this thing at school for acting and the arts and stuff like that, you do the workshops for 5 days then you go to a festival adn perform and participate. would that be good and tell me anything else that i can do over the summer to get acting experience and to build up a acting resume%26#039; for talent agencies. thanks
What are some acting things that i can do over the summer????
All of that sounds great. I love it when my nieces and my son put on a play for us. Definitely take the camp, it%26#039;s great experience, you meet lots of interesting people, and you%26#039;ll get experience performing.

Otherwise, take voice and dancing lesson. Practice, practice, practice. Play around with different voices and faces.

Good luck!
What are some acting things that i can do over the summer????
It is way late to be thinking about it, but mayabe something will still be open. the play with friends is not good for the resume, the stuff at the school for acting would be. That is simple. There are summer acting camps that have sessions all summer long. You could try them. But it is LATE. Best wishes, Doc

Can somebody help me find a suitable (popular) actress?

I%26#039;m trying to make a script for a film called %26quot;Henry Crowe.%26quot; I work a lot better usually, if I have an actress to think of when I write about the leading lady.

So, here she is: Autumn Blue.

Age: 18-19

Eyes: Blue or green.

Hair: brown or dirty blonde.

Basically, all of this, and something that will just sort of pop out at you. Like, you look at someone, and immediately THINK: modest art student.

So...any ideas yet?
Can somebody help me find a suitable (popular) actress?
I would say Reese Witherspoon. She is a talented and very down-to-Earth kind of person.
Can somebody help me find a suitable (popular) actress?
i really like kate winslet.

but she is about 40, so i don%26#039;t think that would work.haha.
Reply:Emma Watson fits the description...except her eyes are brown...

Is wings model management in cincinnati, ohio any good for acting?

I have never heard of that Modeling Agency but I have heard that John Casablanca%26#039;s Modeling Agency is good. John Robert Powers is another one. I believe they are in Cincinnati Ohio also. I new someone who went to that agency and their picture was up in their office and they went on to do lots of stuff magazines etc. The best agency for modeling are:

(1) Ford

(2)Elite

(3) Wilhelmina

These are in no particular order. Over the years of having done my research of the Modeling industry I have found that these are well respected! Do not be discouraged by this if you do not leave in the New York area. There are still ways for you to get into modeling with local agency%26#039;s. To get into acting, these agency%26#039;s can help with that I believe. Get involved at your local theater and look in the local News Paper for acting jobs. Check out arts and entertainment magazines around town and at your local library. Those type of magazines are usually free. look at bulletin boards at Colleges in Cincinnati.

Blessings!

Do anyone know a legit website to get casting calls for acting?

Is there any talent agency around Toronto that is either looking for people or would allow auditions that someone might have a chance of getting in at?

Looking for agency?
Here are some talent agents in Toronto, Canada. Most accept teens, though I%26#039;d check before submitting. Also, to be legit, they should be affiliated or franchised with SAG/AFTRA and charge no upfront fees! Good luck!

I need help, acting/ family crisis..........?
Im sorry to hear whats been happening, but i hope all goes well =]

There are plays and things going on everywhere, sut keep your eyes peeled. If there are any theatres around you, just go to the door and there should be some posters up on the wall about next plays and stuff, and all you have to do is ring up and talk to them about it.

Also talk to your schools drama teacher. He/She was probably in numerous plays and stuff in their life.

Hi, my name is Ashley ***. I鈥檓 fourteen years old and going to be fifteen on December 5. I live in San ****California;

I am in the ninth grade at **** High School. I love acting, it is one thing that I鈥檝e always wanted to do; being on stage and performing in front of a crowd is something that I鈥檝e always loved. Its been a dream of mine since I was a little girl to be on TV. My GPA is a 3.0; I believe that education is the number one thing you need to succeed and be able to fulfill your dreams. Unlike many of the actors/singers/models my age, one of my goals is t

Resume help?
^ if its an acting resume - you do need your age, weight, height, all that stuff.

However, take out the %26quot;hi, ...%26quot;

a lot of people start with putting their name in a bigger font, center top of the page. then in regular font, but still centered, right below your name, put where you live - next line: street address, next line: city, state zip, next line: phone number (multiple numbers go on separate lines), next line: email

then date of birth, height, weight, color - all that stuff (it doesn%26#039;t really matter what order)

then if you had experience, you list the part you had space a few bars then what show it was in, then tab a few bars and where you performed it, then year (which could be optional):

example:

Roxie Hart (gap) %26#039;Chicago%26#039; (gap) Music Theatre Louisville (gap) 2001

then your next section would be training - like voice training or dance classes

example:

voice instruction under (so and so%26#039;s name)

and the years you have done

However, I think if you don%26#039;t have a lot of experience and/nor a lot of training, you could place your l paragraph about %26quot;I love acting ....%26quot; after your physical description. Seeing as how you might be fairly new to it all, I think it would be appropriate.

Can I go to LA just for pilot season?

I keep jumping back and forth between leaving ny for la for my writing and acting career.... now im wondering is it possible, for me to try out la just for pilot season, maybe go late jan til beg of april?

Can I go to LA just for pilot season?
You seem to have covered all the main pitfalls that amateurs fall into, I%26#039;d be inclined to go for it as soon as you can.
Can I go to LA just for pilot season?
Yes. People do that every year. There is an apartment complex right across from Warner Bros. that lots of actors stay in during pilot season. (Oakwood, on Barham Blvd) It%26#039;s popular with moms who bring their kids for pilot season. They have furnished apartments, and rent short-term.

Is playing musical instrument necessay for success?

I played the guitar from 5th to 8th grade and I didn%26#039;t really enjoy it, so I stopped afterwards. I just didn%26#039;t get a high from doing it. There%26#039;s a general saying that playing music can increase SAT scores and stuff but I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s the only thing. I sprint and run long distances to help my brain relax and I also play billiards serious. Some people say that the most successful people have to play music, but this isn%26#039;t true is it? Do I have a chance?
Is playing musical instrument necessay for success?
All depends what you want to succeed at, doesn%26#039;t it?
Is playing musical instrument necessay for success?
There are crystal clear relationships between music and math -- being involved in one improves the other -- and there are crystal clear relationships between doing well in math and being financially successful. Ergo, play music and have a better chance of financial success.

Sure, there are millions of exceptions. Just review your senior class in high school. Were the top students also involved in music?
Reply:Studying music can have a significant benefit in understanding some mathematical concepts, such as fractions, intervals, etc. Further, playing in a group setting helps make clear the link between individual efforts and group success, providing lessons in teamwork, cooperation, and the like.

To suggest that one has to study music to achieve success, though, is short-sighted. Beyond the obvious problem that different people define success very differently, there are other ways to gain each benefit that music provides. It is a boost, but studying music is neither necessary nor sufficient for someone to be successful.

What should I wear to an acting audition?

On Sunday I%26#039;m going to an audition for a commercial and they said to look nice. What should I wear? Are jeans not appropriate? And what kind of shirt!? HELP!
What should I wear to an acting audition?
No clue what the commercial is about?

Tough...if you have a good (slim) figure wear a good cut top that shows it off, wear designer jeans that fit VERY well and have a long and short skirt ready to change into (matching shoes for them as well, of course)

Good luck!
What should I wear to an acting audition?
If you are normal weight looking or lets say %26quot;thin%26quot; , then wear skinny jeans a long t-shirt stuck to the skin (a cute color) and a cute pair of flats. Converse%26#039;s if you rockstar type.

Your hair could be to your choice flat ironed , curled up or even wavy. Your accesories should be simple : one or two cute bracelets on the right arm and a cute small watch on the left one a necklace or small earring would do well too. Lip Gloss is a must , but not so much that your lips are shining like a torch lol. Have HAIR-LESS arms , it actually depends on your age , if you are 13 and up yeahh shave it off.

Now if you are chubby or a bit over-weight then wear normal jeans , a pretty noticing belt, a cute t-shirt with an awesome design in the front. Flats or sandals..and also converse%26#039;s if you are rockstar type.

Hope you make it! Good Luck
Reply:Whatever you pick, make sure if you get the callback that you were the same thing again.
Reply:If they said to look nice, DON%26#039;T wear jeans! Wear a casual, cute skirt. That way, you%26#039;ll be able to move freely, but you%26#039;ll look more sophisticated, too. And wear a cute shirt that%26#039;s comfortable, not too revealing, but shows off your figure. Good luck on auditions - you%26#039;ll definitely look the part! :)

Dieing to get in acting buisness?

does anyone know any good resourses for me to get into so i can start submitting for auditions u would really be answering my prayers please help me out?
Dieing to get in acting buisness?
If you are dying to get into acting, I would first learn how to spell. There%26#039;s always a chance you may need to fill out some paperwork.
Dieing to get in acting buisness?
If you want to go to acting business, then you look for auditions. Look for small independent movies, use the internet to your advantage
Reply:Do you have an impressive resume? A great head shot? Your parents%26#039; backing, if you are under 18? In the latter case that is crucial.
Reply:You can self-promote yourself on the new networking site for actors - www.castedas.com

This is a space where you can share info about yourself, shows you%26#039;ve been in, etc. The site also provides a way to upload photos and videos and more. The site is 100% free too, which is nice.

Terminology?

In any tv, film, stage, and news productions, people, such as the production manager, the script writer and so on, work behind the scenes.

What do you call the work of the people, such as actors, actresses, dancers, news anchors and so on?

I mean do you say they work ON the scene? If not, what is the term for it? Thanks.
Terminology?
The Talent.
Terminology?
I agree with the first person who answered -- the general term for those people is the Talent.

How do people get ?

discovered on YouTube??

I mean , do producers or some important people go on the internet looking for talent and find their videos?

Do they even give time to look at these videos or only choose any random one and rates it ?!!

(Talking about big people linked to industry)

I want to be discovered, and if a producer sees my vids how will he/she contact me??

I dont live in U.S but want to sing/act there?!!

anyway thankssss
How do people get ?
Well, to tell you the truth, the chances of you getting discovered are really slim. Go to an agency and see if they like you. That is the best way to get in to the acting business!
How do people get ?
They don%26#039;t, it is a myth. Producers, etc, do not have to go through the internet, agents and managers are suggesting talent to them all the time. You will have to become a star where you are, then the US industry may come for you.

Good college for a professional actor?

Hi there, I am 16 years old and I am starting to look at colleges. I love acting, in fact, I am already getting payed jobs and have been a supporting role (NOT AN EXTRA PEOPLE) in two feature films, and I have also starred and been a supporting role in other short/inde films as well. I am wondering should I even bother pursue acting in college? I use to be a big theater arts fan, but the problem is theater and film acting just don%26#039;t mix (though I have never had trouble switching in and out). Not to mention you can%26#039;t learn how to act, it%26#039;s natural. Most questions I have seen about becoming an actor/actress in college have come from... well, inexperienced pre-teens who want to be the next big thing. So I guess the general question is: Should I bother pursing acting in college for a major of a sort, and if so what are some good colleges for film acting. Thanks!

Good college for a professional actor?
A lot of your choices will be in Los Angeles. UCLA has always been a huuuge television acting school, but have fun getting into it if you%26#039;re from out-of-state. There%26#039;s also tons of schools in New York and Chicago and even Dallas. There%26#039;s even a particularly good school in North Carolina, aptly named North Carolina School of the Arts.

When I was looking for colleges, I attended this college fair and learned SO MUCH: http://www.nacacnet.org/MemberPortal/Eve...

This college fair is worth travelling to go to. I have never learned such valuable information for going off to college in pursuit of acting. Good Luck!

EDIT: About acting all being natural talent... you can always learn more. Never think that you%26#039;re perfect at what you do. Perfection is unattainable when it comes to art.
Reply:If you are going to have your SAG card before you graduate high school, (I guess you already have it) you should be making plans to go to LA,not to college. Your youth is your biggest asset and will be gone when you graduate college if you go to college. You can always pick up a degree later, if you think you will need one. You don%26#039;t say where you are located. You just need to start making plans to continue your career when you get out of high school. Maybe theatre and film don%26#039;t mix in high school, but as a pro, you may find they do. But you do one project at a time, and start making sure each is the right one for you at that time..Part of your life as an up and comming actor will be to take professional classes, not so much to learn to act, but to network and infiltrate the profession. I direct you to actingcareerstartup.com and the many articles there about getting started as a film actor in LA. There is no doubt that if you handle it well, you have a bright future as an actor. I have other advice for you about which acting schools, some reading and so forth if you are interested.
